Outstanding maths teacher. Maths teacher at Montrose - Stuart - Montrose - Maths

Mr Lyon was a fantastic member of my mathematics department (in a UK Curriculum Leading Prep School). We were incredibly sorry to lose him back in July 2019 but he was keen to relocate from Dubai back to Europe. The parents at our school were also very sad to see him go as he developed lovely relationships with his pupils both as a form tutor and a mathematics specialist. Mr Lyon was responsible for the full planning and delivery of the Year 7 curriculum to our pupils. Before he left, he was heavily involved with the planning and further development of our KS3 pupils including preparing them for Year 9 Common Entrance examinations. He also worked alongside the mathematics department to teach and plan lessons for Year 5 and 6. He went above and beyond with his planning, often taking opportunities to develop pupil learning by incorporating technology or coding within lessons too. He has a lovely, gentle manner when teaching and pupils respond extremely well to him. His lessons and powerpoints were always clear to follow and he has never missed a deadline, meeting or had a day off work. I also know that he was a very well-known tutor in the Middle East and worked with a variety of prestigious families in the area. He assisted pupils with a variety of session types including admissions, examinations and general mathematics tuition across all Senior School age groups.

Stuart worked at Repton Dubai as a Junior school maths teacher. He was well regarded and highly effective during his time here.
