About James
In 2018, I finished a four-year masters degree in Physics, specialising in Quantum Communication, Lasers, and Biophysics. During my time at university, I covered almost every discipline of physics in some detail, and designed and built a unique electronic device as part of my 4th year master's project.
I am now studying in Cambridge for a PGCE in Secondary Maths Education.

My teaching method is informed mostly by the tutorial system of Oxford, my alma mater. I'm flexible with regards to different teaching needs, whether you're a visual, aural, or oral learner etc. Having worked at summer school during the course of my degree, and given lessons to groups of up to fifteen, I've found different students understand topics better using different approaches.

Perfect! Fantastic tutor for physics A level.
- Reece is a pleasure to teach: attentive, polite and genuinely wants to improve! Practice with more maths-based questions will improve his algebraic fluency, and a more structured approach to answering long questions (i.e. writing known values first, then asking what variable do we want to know, how can we rearrange/substitute equations to make that variable the subject) will help!See the response James :

Perfect! James is an amazing tutor. Both my boys really enjoy his lessons and we will be back in touch soon to set up some more. James is patient, always positive and upbeat and has a real flair for working with young learners. I cannot speak highly enough of him or his qualifications and teaching methods. Thank you James.
- Luke and Kian are both very quick for their age groups, and a real pleasure to teach: always attentive and willing to stretch their boundaries! Only watch that natural talent doesn't replace hard work, but bolster it - and for Kian in particular, not to let his enthusiasm get the better of him, and to charge headfirst into questions before properly reading them!See the response James :
Perfect! James is very knowledgeable about physics and gauges my son's areas of interest and style of learning very quickly. He was able to fully engage my son in every lesson and my son looks forward to James' class every time!
- Sulia's son has been an absolute delight to teach, since we began our weekly lessons last year; he's always keen to learn more, and not afraid to ask tricky questions that often have me thinking on my feet! I very much look forward to continuing lessons into the future.See the response James :

James is exceptionally knowledgeable and has a true passion for what he teaches. Having worked with James on a number of projects, I would highly recommend him to anyone. A genuine and kind character with a great sense of humour! Above all, James is an excellent communicator, patient and innovative in the way he teaches and has a rare ability to transfer more than just his understanding, but his enjoyment of physics, to whomever he teaches.
James and I met doing amateur dramatics, tutored me for my undergrad physics degree. He is excellent, takes time time to explain the processes of working through a range of problems! Always happy to answer any and all queries and just a great guy in general! Highly recommend!
