About Rupert

I'm in my third year studying Law with German Law at the University of Oxford and have received a training contract offer from a magic circle law firm. I scored 31 on the LNAT and achieved top marks across a wide range of IB subjects, including 7s in both English Literature and German. I know what it takes to succeed academically and how to support others in reaching their goals. I have experience tutoring students for university applications, including LNAT preparation, personal statements, and Oxbridge interviews. I also work as a qualified sailing instructor with children aged 7 to 16 and hold a DBS check. My approach is calm, supportive, and focused on building confidence. Whether you're aiming for top IB results, preparing for university, or just want to feel more secure in a subject, I tailor sessions to your needs and learning style so that we make steady and meaningful progress.

About the lesson

I take a calm, relaxed, and student-led approach to tutoring. My priority is helping students feel confident with the material, especially in subjects that can feel abstract or high-pressure like Law, essay writing, or exam preparation. Rather than rushing through content, I focus on understanding what each student finds difficult and explaining things clearly and patiently. That might involve walking through examples together, revisiting core concepts, or breaking down tricky ideas step by step. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, but I’m happy to adapt the length based on the student’s needs. I also offer support between sessions if students have questions or want clarification. I’ve previously tutored university applicants, focusing on LNAT preparation, personal statements, and interview skills. I’m also a qualified sailing instructor and have worked with children aged 7 to 16, which has given me experience adapting my style to different learning needs. I hold a DBS check. My lessons are well suited to: Students preparing for the LNAT, Oxbridge Law, or UK university admissions IB students studying Global Politics, History, English Literature, German, or Maths AI Anyone looking to improve their academic writing, essay structure, or German language skills (school to university level) I generally teach students aged 14 and up, and I tailor each session to the student’s goals, timeline, and learning style.
