About Joshua

Third year undergraduate studying Maths at St Peter's College, Oxford University. I can tutor GCSE and A-Level (including Further Maths) and can also help with MAT and STEP practice and interview preparation. I can also tutor first year university maths content. A levels: Maths - A* Further Maths - A* Chemistry - A* Physics - A* 10 GCSEs at level 8/9 including triple science and HL maths

About the lesson

My lessons will take more of an informal approach to learning, more of a discussion to solidify certain key concepts and asking my student to explain what they are doing while solving problems. This style of teaching is meant to emulate the way my tutors teach us in tutorials and is in a similar fashion to the interviews Oxford give you during the application process. The lessons will tend to be either an hour or half an hour long depending on amount of content you want to cover but that is only tentative and I am more than open to suggestions about how long you want a lesson. For repeated lessons I think it is most productive if my student also completes some work outside the lessons for us to look over. This would only be a small amount of work though (about 30 mins maximum) but I'm also happy to waive this if you want.

Perfect! Joshua has been helping my son who is preparing for his MAT exam for nearly two months, with a view to making a strong application to read maths at Oxford University. We were so fortunate to find Joshua as he has proven not only an expert at high-level mathematics but also articulate and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and inspiring his students.
