About Jonah
I am a 20-year-old college student who has been regularly performing and recording for about nine years. My current specialty is American folk music from the Appalachians, but I have experience with a wide range of genres including Chicago blues, folk-rock, and punk rock. In 2016 I won the WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Rising Star of the Year award. I have experience as a private music teacher, including teaching kids with special needs and autism.

*Lessons can take place virtually all year long, or in-person during the summer.* When I started taking private guitar lessons as an eleven-year-old, my teacher catered almost exclusively to my fascination with blues, and this led directly to me attending Chicago Blues Camp a year later. This is the philosophy that I use; music is a joy and not an obligation, so I want to advance the particular interests of my students as much as possible. I encourage kids with special needs and autism to sign up for lessons with me, as I have a lot of experience working with them. Desired length of lesson will depend on exactly what the student would want to get out of this, which is very subjective!
