Passionate Drummer with 10+ Years of Experience – Helping You Achieve Your Drumming Goals

My 9 y.o. son loves drum lessons with Illia. They are dynamic, and he is never bored. He likes the opportunity to play his favorite songs and to practice drums in the studio. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing experience learning drums with Ilya. In just three months I went from knowing nothing to playing my favorite songs. It was a dream come true. Funkylev's passion and friendly teaching style made every lesson fun. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to learn drums!

I worked with Illia on multiple projects and I find his level of professionalism exceptional. He is always prepared and is giving his best. When he was in Vancouver I took drum lessons with him and despite me having a little hard time on my first steps, the encouragement he gave me made me want to figure it out and he was there to find a way for me to get it. In my life I haven’t met teachers like that.
Illia is very good with people. He knows how to help you achieve what you want and be your #1 supporter/fan in the process.

I recently started taking drum lessons with Ilya. He is a friendly and likable teacher who creates a welcoming atmosphere in his classes. He is very practice-oriented and focuses on hands-on learning.

In my first class, Ilya taught me how to play a few basic beats under his supervision. His approach was very effective, and I felt confident in my progress right from the start.

As a singing coach and English language teacher, I have a deep understanding of effective teaching techniques. Ilya clearly demonstrates a strong grasp of these methods. He skillfully employs elicitation, encouraging students to guess and discover answers on their own, which significantly enhances retention and understanding. This approach not only makes learning more engaging, but also ensures that the knowledge sticks. I highly recommend Ilya to anyone looking to learn drums. His expertise, combined with his warm and supportive teaching style, makes him an outstanding instructor.

The best teacher ive ever had. So passionate about what he’s doing, explaining theory easily and make you not just understand it but be interesting in learning more.
Highly recommended!
