“Radio Frequency Integrated Circuit Designing” – Carleton University, Canada
Description: Cascode CMOS Low Noise Amplifier was implemented at the center frequency of 7.36GHz with a gain of 18.21 dB, Noise Figure of 1.8 dB, 1-dB compression point of -22.09 dBm and IIP3 of -10.623 dBm with the supply voltage of 1.2V. Double-Balanced Down conversion Gilbert cell Mixer was designed at a radio frequency of 7.36 GHz, Local oscillator frequency of 8 GHz and the intermediate frequency of 200 MHz. The gain of the mixer was obtained as 18.3dB, Noise Figure of 2.34 dB, 1-dB compression point of -24.44dBm and IIP3 of -16.7dBm. Cross-coupled LC Negative Gm Voltage Controlled oscillator was designed at an oscillating frequency of 8 GHz. The tuning range of VCO was obtained as 608 MHz with the output amplitude of 395mV peak, Phase Noise of -107.44 dBc/Hz and the power consumption of 1.2 mW(core). A Class AB Power Amplifier with the center frequency of 7.3 GHz was implemented with the supply voltage of 1.8V in a 50 Ohms system. The output power of the PA was obtained as 17.12 dBm, Power Added Efficiency of 13.7.
“Design and Development of Energy Management Systems” – Carleton University, Canada
Description: An Energy Management System (EMS) for a grid connected hybrid power system controlled through fuzzy logic is developed using MATLAB/SIMULINK. The goal of proposed EMS for micro grid with battery storage system is to advance the fuel cost, enhancing the energy utilization efficiency and to deal with the peak load demand by scheduling the generation according to the accessibility of the fuel and the load requirement. The proposed algorithm for the energy management of grid connected hybrid energy system helps in the incorporation of PV panels and wind power into the grid which achieves the peak load demand, and it also improves the stability of the system under different transient conditions by maintaining the frequency and voltage close to the nominal value for different load. The results can be obtained to verify the EMS using fuzzy logic expert system shows the minimization of the operating cost and emission level of micro grid by optimal planning of power generation, and preserves the State of Charge (SOC) of batteries in preferred value that improves the battery life. The multi-objective intelligent energy management system turns into a proper tool for improving the system reliability and operational efficiency of a micro grid.

Description: JPEG2000 is the latest image compression standard by the Joint Photographic Expert Group (JPEG). This project deals with Verilog Implementation of 1D Discrete Wavelet Transform in Xilinx FPGA which is a part of JPEG2000 Compression.
“VLSI Design architecture for Serial and Parallel CRC” – ISRO, India
Description: VLSI Architecture-based design model of a 16-bit Serial CRC and a Parallel CRC have been developed on the Xilinx Software. The testbench has been verified and the simulations are obtained along with the behavioral check syntax which demonstrates that the code is synthesizable. The design schematic and layout has been developed. The error check is further carried out to verify the net-list match during the LVS after routing. The floorplan of the optimized design is compiled using Encounter tool. A further area of research in this area of satellite research has been identified for reference.
