About Niall

I am 29 and I am from Laois. I have been mad about Irish since I was a teenager when I started attending Coláiste Lurgan summer school to learn Irish in Galway. From there I learned the culture behind the language and why we must preserve her and extend her into Irish life more. I am very involved in the irish language and run my own radio show with Raidió na Life. I also help organise and take part in ciorcal comhrás in my area. I attend Oireachtas na Samhna every year and speak irish every day outside of my job with family members.

About the lesson

I am very passionate about the Irish language and I hope to give that passion to you too in my lessons. I am a qualified primary school teacher and I have experience teaching people from all ages. A lesson with me will be relaxed and I will help you on areas that you are unsure about in the language from pronunciation to grammar.

I focus more on people willing to learn to speak the language but am willing to help students in the junior and leaving cert but this is not my specialty.

Very good spoken Irish. We worked on when you put a séimhiú on a word. Tomorrow we hopefully will work on when to have an urú and to have more conversation. Let me know if you’d like to work anything else.

Perfect! Niall is a great and very patient teacher and has helped me begin to get confidence again speaking as gaeilge. We have spent most of our lessons focusing on speaking and he has shared some great resources after the class.

10/10 teacher. I've known Niall for years and always knew he had a serious interest in Irish so I thought I'd give it a go and take the plunge back into learning it. Niall is an excellent teacher, he takes his time with you, is understanding of the pitfalls and challenges, and is extremely enthusiastic about your progress. Niall is constantly involved in Irish cultural events and even has a radio show on Raidió Na Life! I couldn't recommend Niall enough to people of all abilities who are looking to bring Irish back into their lives. Go raibh maith agat Múinteoir Niall!

I would recommend him to others as he helps people to like the language again and not look at it as just a subject but a living language with culture.
