About Michael

Hi! I am Michael Onyinyechi, and teaching is something I genuinely love. I believe that learning should be enjoyable and accessible, and I am passionate about helping young minds develop a positive attitude toward math. I started teaching during a university strike when I became a full-time teacher for a group of young learners at my mom’s school. Seeing them grow academically and emotionally made me realize how much I enjoy guiding students toward success. I have also helped my university peers excel in math and physics courses they once struggled with, and seeing their progress motivated me to continue teaching. I want to teach because I know how impactful it can be when students not only understand concepts but also feel confident about them. I look forward to inspiring my future students to love learning and succeed in their studies!

About the lesson

I am passionate about teaching because I believe it is more than just academics – it is about genuinely connecting with my students and helping them grow mentally, emotionally, and intellectually. I always aim to create a warm, supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring new concepts. My teaching style is interactive and hands-on, using real-life examples and practical problem-solving to make learning engaging and fun. I usually keep my lessons around an hour long to ensure we cover topics thoroughly while keeping the session lively and interesting. I am flexible with my approach and make sure to adjust my teaching methods based on each student’s needs so they can build a strong foundation before moving on to more complex ideas. My teaching journey started during a university strike when I decided to step in as a full-time teacher for Primary 5 students at my mom’s school. I did not just focus on academics – I made sure to support the kids emotionally and mentally too. Later on, at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where I studied Science Laboratory Technology (Physics/Electronics), I also tutored my classmates in math and physics courses. It was really rewarding to see them excel without any carryovers, and it fueled my love for teaching even more. I love working with young learners, especially elementary school students, because I find it so fulfilling to help them build a positive attitude toward math early on. I know from experience that when kids start seeing math as enjoyable rather than difficult, it can make a big difference in their learning journey.
