About the lesson

My approach as an American Sign Language tutor is structured, patient, and focused on helping students truly understand how ASL works rather than just memorizing signs. I emphasize clarity, repetition, and real-world application so students feel confident using ASL in class and conversation.

I tailor my teaching to each student’s learning style and current level. Lessons focus on building a strong foundation in vocabulary, grammar, facial expressions, and proper sign structure, while also addressing common challenges students face when learning ASL. I break concepts down step by step and adjust the pace to ensure understanding before moving forward.

A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previously learned material, followed by new vocabulary or grammatical concepts. We then practice through guided signing, sentence formation, and comprehension exercises. I also encourage students to ask questions and practice expressive skills so they become more comfortable signing naturally rather than relying on English structure.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my experience assisting beginner to intermediate ASL students and my focus on clear, supportive instruction.
