About Jonathan

As a future certified teacher currently completing my second year of the professional teaching program at Lakehead University, I bring both formal training and real classroom experience to every tutoring session. My approach is student-centered, flexible, and grounded in years of experience working with learners from Kindergarten to Grade 9. I take my role seriously—not just as a tutor, but as a mentor who genuinely cares about each student’s progress and well-being. I believe in creating a safe, respectful space where students feel encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and grow with confidence. With a strong foundation in literacy and a proven ability to connect with diverse learners, I’m committed to helping students succeed—not just academically, but as confident, curious individuals. I always remind students that I’m their personal teacher—someone they can rely on to shape their learning in a way that feels meaningful and empowering. I believe that when students understand the why behind what they're learning, they begin to see the bigger picture. Education becomes more than just lessons; it becomes a way to understand themselves and the world around them—so they can make a real impact.

About the lesson

My English lessons are personal, engaging, and built around you. I take the time to understand your strengths, challenges, and interests so we can shape your learning together. Whether you're building confidence in writing, grammar, reading, or creative expression, I tailor each lesson to your pace and goals. With a background in writing over 250 stories and poems, and experience working with students from Kindergarten to Grade 8, I bring creativity, patience, and care to every session. These lessons aren’t just about school—they’re about helping you grow into the confident communicator you're meant to be.

The goal of my lessons is to help students recognize the bigger impact their learning can have—not just on their grades, but on how they understand themselves and express their ideas in the world. Education isn’t just about memorizing facts; it’s about realizing your voice matters and using your learning to make a difference.

While I specialize in English, I also offer support in all subjects for students from Kindergarten to Grade 9.
