I love teaching.
I've been performing since I toured with the
Jazz Fusion Band, Entropy while in HS. I worked my way through grad school reading shows and playing dance music around NY.
Concert Band and Choral Director/Conductor
I'm happy to work with children of all ages, from 3 to 93.
We develop the skills people call "Talents" such as
ear training and rhythmic sense.
We learn how to read, play by ear, and improvise. We also do ear and rhythm training to improve our musicianship. We learn how to play with other musicians.
My students learn the science of music and the neuroscience of practice. Understanding how to practice makes improvement much easier and faster.
According to scholarly research, two years of this type of instrument study will increase the average IQ by 8.5 points! Nothing uses more of the brain than learning a musical instrument.
In the end, the key is understanding each student.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Improved skill through active listening , broadened appreciation for different music genres, encouraged to play with feeling just as much as accuracy.
Bob is passionate about music and a knowledgeable teacher who works well with students of all ages, from kids through to mature people like me.
I have learned a lot about piano, and so much more about musical appreciation, various genres and musicianship from Bob.I am pleased to recommend Robert (Bob) Comarow as a teacher of bass, guitar and piano. I am a working cabaret and Latin singer. I have known Bob for many years and have often observed him teaching lessons. A dedicated and gifted teacher, he is also an experienced performer who brings a real-world perspective to lessons. He is equally at home teaching all age groups and levels. He treats each student as an individual and tailors the lessons accordingly, helping his students achieve the results they seek.
Bob is extremely patient and always has his students' best interests at heart. He instills in them a deep love and appreciation for music. He is versatile and familiar with many different styles of music, including classical, jazz, rock, folk, etc.
When you are deciding on a teacher, it is very important to choose one with integrity, because you are entrusting your hopes and dreams to them. I can vouch for Bob's integrity. Music is not something he does; music is something he lives. So if you are selecting a teacher, either for yourself or someone else, I suggest you call Bob Comarow. You can thank me later!View more recommendations
