About Fargol

Hi there, I'm Fargol! I'm a recent English graduate from the University of Cambridge with three years of tutoring experience. I primarily teach English literature, English language, and university admissions, though I have also taught Latin, Maths, Chemistry, and conversational Persian in the past. I am compassionate, passionate and enthusiastic, with an eye for detail and quality in everything that I do and in all that I teach!

I was born in Iran and grew up speaking Persian at home. After a couple of years of going to Persian school on the weekends, I completed my GCSE and my A-Level Persian qualifications, achieving an A* in both. At the University of Cambridge, my passion for Persian language and culture led me to write a first-class undergraduate dissertation on Iranian-British and Iranian-American diasporic poetry, looking especially at translation and untranslatability, and the use of the Persian language, in contemporary anglophone poetry.

I am passionate about Persian, and would love to help others develop their Persian speaking skills! I am patient and hard working, and will always be there to help my students grow both in skill and in confidence through constant practice and compassionate re-assurance. I am a firm believer that to learn a language, you have to use it and be exposed to it regularly! That's what I'm here for, and I will dedicate myself to guiding my students towards greater proficiency and confidence in Persian.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm Fargol, and I offer one-to-one conversation classes for speakers with elementary/beginners proficiency wishing to develop, practice and improve their Persian listening and speaking skills.

I am flexible with my teaching style, and will mould my lessons to fit my students' specific level and requirements, but, in general, my lessons involve exposing my students to the Persian language: through conversation (on different topics, starting from the basics), through vocabulary teaching, and through grammar correction. By engaging in conversation with a native speaker, my students can practice their speaking skills, widen their vocabulary, and gain confidence in their mastery of the Persian language.

Persian is my mother tongue, and I have an A-Level in Persian too, as well as more than three year of English Literature and Language tutoring experience (see other ads)! I have recently started teaching Persian too, and I am passionate and dedicated to this new direction in my teaching!
