About Kevin

I was always involved in sports growing up. Prior to boxing, I wanted to become a professional soccer player. I went all the way up to Tokyo 1st division in my home country Japan. Unfortunately due to several reasons, I had to stop playing soccer and I turned to boxing. I have been boxing since the age of 16, in a famous boxing gym called 'Watanabe Boxing Gym'. From there I learned the basics, sparring with professional and amateur boxers. One of the most notable sparring partners I had was a professional boxer called 'Hiroto Kyoguchi', former lineal light flyweight world champion. In 2018, I moved to Canada for university and have continued boxing ever since. I have fought in numerous tournaments and fights as an amateur. Some of my amateur highlight wins are 2x Brampton Cup Champion, Runner-up in both Bronze and Silver gloves, as well as winning numerous club shows throughout Ontario. Apart from teaching private lessons, I also teach morning boxing classes at the gym that I train at. In the future, I would like to become a world champion and once I retire I would like to open my own boxing gym.

About the lesson

Hello everyone! I am a high-level amateur boxer and boxing trainer at a famous gym located near Dufferin and Steeles. I offer private and semi-private boxing lessons for all individuals, whether it be children, teenagers, or adults. I offer boxing sessions for individuals at all athletic levels. Would you like to learn the sweet science? Lose some weight? Or just simply have fun learning a new sport? Whatever your goal is, I will cater each session to make sure that you will achieve them! Before I met Kevin I was not that confident in Japanese, I had a very hard time understanding Japanese shows even though I tried to study by myself. After taking a couple of lessons, not only was it easy for me to understand, but I am able to converse at a higher level and read Japanese. He is very detailed orientation and gives very creative analogies which helps me understand the language more. I definitely will be coming back for more Japanese lessons!
