About PREETI

A little bit about my educational background and profession. I have B.Ed. in Hindi and Economics and a Master's in Psychology degree. For the last 18 years, I have taught Hindi in national, and local schools and online. Teaching Experience: ------------------------- Head of Hindi Department- worked as HOD Hindi in Central Academy Senior, Secondary School, Rajasthan. - Conducted workshops for teachers to enhance teaching skills. - Developed Hindi teaching techniques from Primary classes to Higher Secondary. - Worked as a consultant for the selection of Books in school according to students’ mental level and syllabus needs. - Designed syllabus according to class level. - Evaluated CBSE board exam copies and performed board invigilation duties. - Worked as a Trained Graduate Teacher and prepared students for board exams Professional career: ----------------------- - Central Academy Senior Secondary School, Rajasthan 2015 - Present - Delhi Public School, Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh, from 2013 to 2015. - Delhi Public school, Vadodara Gujarat, from 2008 to 2013. Publications in Hindi Language- ------------------------------------ - Write Hindi poems and short stories on different current topics. - Publication of Poems and stories in the National Newspaper PATRIKA. - Recited self-created poems on electronic media, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. - Presented Hindi talk on psychological topics on electronic media in Rajasthan. - Drafted Hindi news for Print media to describe school events in Rajasthan. - Achieved appreciation and reward for poem recitation in Hindi Sahitya "Kavi Samalen", Madhya Pradesh.

About the lesson

I am conducting online HINDI classes. I tailor the teaching to the student's objective—for example, conversational or writing. I can start from the very basics or teach writing grammatically correct stories. Suppose a student has a prescribed syllabus in school. In that case, I can help teach the HINDI concepts, help complete homework, and prepare for exams and debates, and speech. I can also prepare students for special occasions by reciting customized event-specific poems, and speeches, to surprise the audience with fluency and diction. I understand the needs of the first-timer. I am fluent in English. HINDI is my mother tongue. I write HINDI poems and articles in print media and online. I publish my recitations on youtube regularly. Let's connect the world with our motherland. I understand Marathi as well.

If hours purchased in a pack of 10 hours/month the charge will $80. If you want to pay as you go, per hour charges will be $10.

Student (14 yrs): my mother talks in Hindi at home with my father and my relatives. She encouraged me to learn my mother tongue so I can participate in the conversation.
Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language's culture?
I am learning about Indian heros and the history along with the language. That help improve my sentence formation skill while getting to know great warriors.
Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?
Lots of them. Especially the kitchen utensil names are very funny. One that makes me laugh is "Chimta"
Why does speaking this language matter to you?
Connecting with my grand parents and cousins back in India. Otherwise language becomes a barrier.
What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?
I feel deprived of vocabulary. I know English words but not relevant Hindi. So majority of the time I switch to speaking in English.
How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?
Now, I enjoy talking to street hockers and auto drivers. They know I have a foreign accent in speaking Hindi. But they make all the efforts to understand my accent and time to time help me find the right word. Lots of hand gestures to explain what I mean. If recorded with muted audio, I may look like playing dumb shall act with them.
