About Agustín

I am a native Spanish-speaking linguist from Peru with a Master’s degree in Hispanic Lexicography. I worked for four years at the Peruvian Academy of Language, contributing to major reference works produced in collaboration with the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language and the Royal Spanish Academy.

My professional experience includes lexicography, linguistic research, proofreading and the editing of academic, educational and institutional texts. I have also taught university courses and trained professional proofreaders in lexical precision, semantics and effective language use.

This combination of linguistic expertise and teaching experience allows me to explain Spanish accurately and clearly, while remaining attentive to actual usage and the diversity of Spanish spoken across Latin America.

About the lesson

My Spanish lessons combine conversation with clear explanations of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and usage. A typical lesson begins with a practical topic or communicative goal, followed by guided activities, examples from authentic Spanish and personalized feedback. I adapt the content and pace to each student’s level, interests and reasons for learning.

As a linguist and lexicographer, I can explain not only what is correct, but also why particular forms are used and how meanings vary across contexts and Spanish-speaking countries. I pay special attention to precision, natural expression and the difficulties that learners commonly encounter.

My lessons are designed for adult students at any level, including beginners. I can also assist advanced learners, researchers and professionals seeking to improve their academic writing, formal communication or understanding of Peruvian and Latin American Spanish. Classes can be conducted mainly in Spanish or supported with explanations in English.
