About Dr Cristina

I’m Cristina, a researcher and emerging technology professional. I recently completed my PhD in Computing Science and Psychology at the University of Glasgow, where my research focused on safeguarding children in social virtual reality (VR).

Before my PhD, I graduated with First-Class Honours in Biomedical Engineering from University College London (UCL). My work sits at the intersection of technology, psychology, and human-computer interaction, and I have published research at major international conferences such as CHI and IDC.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed to provide personalised guidance depending on your goals. Whether you are considering a PhD, working on a research project, or navigating your career path, I aim to create a supportive and structured environment where we can work through challenges together.

Sessions can include mentoring, feedback on applications, research supervision, or career advice. I adapt each session to your needs, which may involve reviewing your CV, discussing research ideas, preparing for PhD interviews, or providing guidance on dissertations and MSc projects.

I also offer supervision-style sessions for students working on research projects or theses. In these sessions, I help you refine your research questions, structure your work, think critically about your methodology, and stay on track with your progress.

My approach is collaborative and practical. I focus on helping you build confidence, develop strong academic and professional skills, and leave each session with clear next steps to move forward.

I have experience tutoring and mentoring over 40 students, as well as supervising MSc-level research and supporting university courses in psychology and human–computer interaction.
