About Valodia

I am especially motivated to work in Canada because it is a multicultural, inclusive country that respects the rights of all, which is essential in second language classrooms. In my case, I have a solid background in educational sciences, I have completed a master's degree and a doctorate in this area of knowledge, as well as a Specialty in University Teaching, all of which have allowed me to perform efficiently as a professor and university manager for more than 20 years at the University of Pinar del Río and at the Faculty of Spanish for Non-Spanish Speakers at the University of Havana. I have also participated as a workshop leader in two Mexican universities and I have taught Spanish as a foreign language and second language for more than two years at Changchun Normal University, Jilin University of International Studies and Beihua University, in China.

I have the teaching category of Full Professor from the University of Havana and I am a member of the academic committee of the Master's Degree in Linguistic Studies of Spanish as a foreign language. In parallel, I investigate curricular design for ELE and EL2 and attention to cultural diversity in the university context.

I have been able to participate as a speaker or lecturer in international scientific events and I have around 17 articles published in high-impact referenced journals.

You will find in me a candidate with leadership and great communication skills, initiative, cooperation and recognition of sociocultural diversity.

About the lesson

Teaching Spanish as a foreign language through a communicative approach and from a multicultural perspective
Class design by language skills: oral expression, written expression, listening comprehension and reading comprehension
I also teach Latin American and Spanish literature and culture classes.
