About Jazib

I’m Jazib, a PhD researcher at Université de Montréal, and I’m passionate about helping students understand science with confidence.

With a strong academic and research background in biology, genetics, genomics, and related scientific fields, I have developed the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, simple, and understandable ideas. I believe that every student can learn difficult subjects when they are taught in a way that matches their needs and learning style.

My approach is patient, encouraging, and personalized. I create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions freely, make mistakes, and learn without feeling judged. Rather than focusing only on memorization, I help students understand the reasoning behind concepts so they can apply their knowledge independently.

Whether you need help preparing for an exam, understanding a challenging topic, improving your grades, or simply becoming more confident in science, I will adapt our lessons to your goals and pace.

As a PhD researcher, I also bring real-world scientific experience into my teaching, giving students a perspective that goes beyond textbooks and helping them develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Jazib, a PhD researcher at Université de Montréal with a strong background in biology, genetics, genomics, and scientific research. My goal as a tutor is not simply to help students memorize information but to help them genuinely understand how and why things work.

My teaching methodology

I adapt every lesson to the student's level, learning style, and specific goals. I use clear explanations, diagrams, real-world examples, step-by-step problem solving, and active questioning to make difficult concepts easier to understand.

For science subjects, I especially focus on connecting theory with practical examples and showing students how different concepts fit together. I encourage students to ask questions freely and explain concepts in their own words, which helps build both understanding and confidence.

What a typical lesson looks like

A typical lesson begins with a short discussion of the student's goals and a review of concepts they may be struggling with. We then work through the main topic step by step, using examples and visual explanations where useful. I give students opportunities to solve problems themselves while providing guidance when needed.

We finish by reviewing the key concepts, identifying anything that still needs clarification, and setting a clear goal for the next lesson.

What sets me apart

As a PhD researcher, I bring experience from real scientific research into my teaching. I understand that students can find scientific subjects intimidating when concepts are presented in overly complicated language. I therefore focus on making complex topics simple, logical, and approachable.

I am patient, encouraging, and happy to explain the same concept in different ways until it makes sense. My research experience also allows me to help students develop scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence rather than relying only on memorization.
