About Kaitlyn

I am a PhD student at UofT specializing in the genetics of neurodevelopmental disorders. My undergraduate degree is from UofT in Human Biology and Physiology, with a minor in French. I took classes in neurology, physiology, anatomy, virology, forestry, cell biology, molecular biology and health sciences. I have lectured at high schools and elementary schools with the program Let's Talk Science and as a guest speaker. From my PhD I have experience in R coding, C++, bioinformatics, cell biology and most of all genetics.

I also recently trained 2 undergraduate students in our genetics lab. I trained them in cell biology techniques, brain anatomy and genetics.

About the lesson

My teaching method is flexible and tailored to each individual. I use visual and interactive approaches to help people learn biology. I am unique as a tutor because of my experience teaching classes of 6-50 individuals and my experience as a PhD student.
