About Meenakshi
Though I am studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at university at the moment (and absolutely loving it!), there were loads of other subjects that I was so keen on studying. There were also those that I never even thought of doing and had a mind-block towards them.
I have come to realise that a dislike for a subject has nothing to do with a lack of ability towards it but a lack of willingness. Learning is a place of inspiration and must be treated as such.
Exam results may not indicate intelligence or capability in definite terms but can be a good measure in getting sense of progress. I had a tutor when I was doing my equivalent of the GCSEs who took me from getting in the low 50% range to a 96% in one of my subjects, purely based on making me enjoy the subject. I hope to be able to do the same for my students, as someone who has been in their place and found a way to thrive.

45 min - 1 hr lessons
I first assess the student's interest and ability in the subject and tailor my lessons according to what they will need to excel.
I take a casual but thorough approach to teaching - compelling students to engage with the subject matter during the lesson - relating it to real world scenarios that they might find easier to grasp.
I conclude my lessons by encouraging the student to explain the concepts back to me. Allowing both the student and myself to understand where they stand and what they must improve on.
I prefer to teach younger students who struggle with the subject. I believe the teacher makes a significant impact on a student's view of a subject upon growing up and hope to be someone who makes them view the subject with excitement rather than dread.
In terms of school and required course content - I am flexible with teaching and can tailor my lessons according to the requirements of the syllabus but not entirely limited to it.
