About Ben

I'm a First Class Physics graduate from Lancaster University, with experience working in a secondary school in London as a Science/Maths Academic Mentor. My passion for teaching stems from my want to help other people. I provided voluntary physics tutoring during lockdown as I wanted to help someone who found it difficult learning from online lessons. I was a student ambassador for the physics department at Lancaster - find out more about me on their subject brochure!

About the lesson

I have experience as an online tutor for the Coronavirus Tutoring Initiative,MyTutor and privately using Bramble.
My lessons are focused around the student. Students come with topics that they struggle with and we go through exam questions on the topic. I'll explain and go through examples of any concepts that I find the student struggles with whilst working through problems. I've found this to be the most efficient way of finding and filling gaps in students' knowledge, whilst preparing them for success in exams.

Perfect! Ben is tutoring our 16 yr old son in GCSE maths and physics. He's friendly and polite and is managing to engage him in maths, which isn't his favourite subject. He looks forward to his sessions with Ben.
