About Cleo
My journey with the piano began with a deep love for sound, harmony, and musical collaboration. This passion led me to complete a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy, where I studied performance, teaching methods, and the psychology of musical learning. Over the past 12 years, I have worked with students of various ages and backgrounds, helping them build strong foundations while developing expressive confidence at the keyboard.
As a teacher, I value clarity, encouragement, and consistency. I believe students thrive when they feel supported and understood rather than pressured. My teaching style balances structure with creativity, ensuring learners build reliable technique while still enjoying musical exploration. I pay close attention to posture, movement, and mental approach, helping students develop healthy habits that support long-term growth.
Outside teaching, I remain deeply connected to music through practice, ensemble playing, and continued study of educational methods. These experiences keep my lessons engaging and relevant. Teaching piano is meaningful to me because I see students grow in confidence, discipline, and artistic expression. Supporting their musical journey is a responsibility I take great pride in.

Piano lessons become truly effective when students begin to feel fluent and comfortable at the instrument from the very beginning. My teaching approach focuses on helping learners connect sound, movement, and reading skills in a natural and supportive way. Lessons emphasize finger independence, relaxed hand position, reading fluency, rhythmic accuracy, and coordination between both hands. Rather than separating technique from music, I integrate them so students experience progress that feels musical and meaningful. Each session is structured to build confidence step by step, allowing learners to feel capable and motivated as they play.
Lesson content is adapted carefully to the learner’s background and musical interests. Beginners work on note recognition, simple rhythms, finger patterns, and steady tempo through approachable exercises and short pieces. Intermediate learners develop stronger coordination, expressive dynamics, articulation control, and duet playing skills. Advanced students refine tone balance, pedaling technique, stylistic interpretation, and performance readiness. Duet playing and ensemble-style activities are often included to build listening skills and musical interaction.
Piano lessons also nurture discipline, focus, and emotional expression. Many students gain confidence not only in music but also in their ability to learn complex skills patiently. My goal is to help learners feel fluent, expressive, and joyful at the piano, developing a lasting relationship with music.
