About Nicolas
I am a piano tutor with over 7 years of experience teaching college students, dedicated to helping them become skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. My teaching style is adaptive, personalized, and focused on both technical development and creative expression. I incorporate innovative techniques such as improvisation exercises, composition challenges, sight-reading games, and blending classical and contemporary music to make lessons interactive, meaningful, and enjoyable.
I emphasize developing technique, theory knowledge, rhythm, and performance confidence while encouraging students to explore their artistic voice. I strive to create a motivating and positive learning environment where students feel challenged, inspired, and supported. My goal is to help students achieve mastery of the piano, perform with confidence, and cultivate a lifelong love for music.

My approach to teaching piano is student-focused, creative, and structured. I aim to help students enjoy learning while developing strong technical and musical skills.
Creativity is encouraged in every lesson through improvisation, creative exercises, and exploring different music styles. Students are guided to express themselves and develop confidence in their playing.
As a mentor and critical thinker, I help students understand rhythm, scales, chords, finger technique, and musical expression clearly. Students are encouraged to analyze their playing, solve challenges, and improve independently.
Accountability is a key part of my teaching. I help students set achievable goals, maintain consistent practice, and review progress regularly. This builds responsibility and motivation.
Along with piano, I teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm skills, keyboard coordination, and basic composition to strengthen overall musical development
