About Linus

Hello, I'm Linus.

I am a graduate of Mannes School of Music Masters Program in Piano Performance. I’m currently pursuing a professional studies diploma at Mannes. During graduate school, I have learned piano pedagogy extensively and have the knowledge of teaching students of all ages and levels. My students range from 2 years old to adults who are working or who have retired.

I have also learned other instruments, such as the violin, the cello and the flute and played in orchestras and chamber groups, so I'm good at explaining terms and ideas using comparison and analogy from other instruments if piano happens to be your second instrument!

I can teach in either/both English and Chinese and sometimes help with explanation in Korean and Spanish.

About the lesson

I welcome students of all ages and levels :)

Although I encourage students, especially beginner level students, to study in a systematic way, that is, to study music theory, and follow standard curriculum, I also understand that many students probably only want to learn it as a hobby, and some may only want to learn a particular piece. I will teach according to students' need and balance the fundamentals with the more "exciting part". So just let me know your goals and I will help achieve it in the way that suits you the most!
