About Louis

I have over 6 years of experience teaching piano to college students and am passionate about helping them grow as skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. My teaching style is student-centered, adaptive, and tailored to each learner’s goals, pace, and abilities. I combine traditional piano techniques with innovative approaches such as improvisation, music composition, and blending classical and contemporary music, making lessons interactive, creative, and enjoyable.

I emphasize building technical skills, sight-reading, rhythm, music theory, and performance confidence, while encouraging students to explore their personal style and artistic expression. My goal is to create a motivating and supportive environment where students feel challenged, inspired, and confident. Every lesson is designed not only to improve technical mastery but also to spark a lifelong love for piano and music, helping students perform with confidence and express themselves fully.

About the lesson

As a critical thinker, I help students understand rhythm, scales, chords, finger coordination, and musical expression. Complex concepts are simplified so students can analyze and improve their playing step by step.

Accountability is emphasized through goal setting, structured practice routines, and regular progress tracking. This helps students stay disciplined and committed to their learning.

In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, keyboard basics, and simple composition to support overall musical skills.
