About Nikolas

As a pilot, I am committed to excellence and professionalism at all times. I am patient and kind and also recognize how difficult certain concepts can be... believe me, I have been there. Therefore, by fostering a safe and encouraging environment, I believe every student has the opportunity to unlock their full potential.

About the lesson

As a pilot, we are faced with an overload of problems and decisions constantly. Through training and practice, while doing my pilot training simultaneously with academic courses (mostly engineering type courses), I developed an approach to figuring out concepts and solving problems on paper the same way we do it in the air. My approach is not to simply get to the answer, but rather to understand the concept, make connections, and truly learn material you can apply to real world applications.

A typical lesson plan for me is to first get you to explain to me what you do and don't get about a problem. Then, I will try my best to make connections to help you understand the problem better by asking open ended questions. After a comprehensive understanding is established, how to apply this knowledge will be discussed.

Being very patient, I am also very practical and strive to establish long term understanding in my students rather than short term understanding to simply pass a test.
