About Sohye

Hi! I’m Sohye, a 28-year-old Korean woman, born and raised in South Korea!

I’ve been living in Canada for about three years, and I’m currently working as a Front Desk Agent at a hotel in Calgary.

Outside of work, I love playing tennis, working out, traveling, exploring new places, and trying good food!

One of the things I love most about living in Canada is meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures.

That’s actually what inspired me to start teaching Korean! I realized how much joy it brings me to share my language and culture with people who are genuinely interested in Korea.

I find it really rewarding to help people learn something new, and I’d love to share more of what makes Korea such a special place.

I truly believe Korea is an amazing country, and I hope you’ll get the chance to visit someday! Trust me, your trip will be so much more fun when you can actually speak some Korean!

And if you’re simply looking for a Korean friend to practice speaking with, you’re more than welcome too!

I’m all about real conversations, good vibes, and learning naturally without the pressure of traditional classroom lessons.

My lessons are mainly focused on speaking and everyday conversations rather than grammar-heavy studying. I especially enjoy helping people become more confident using Korean in real-life situations.

Let’s have fun, practice Korean, and hopefully get you ready for an unforgettable trip to Korea!

Can’t wait to meet you! :)

About the lesson

Want to learn Korean but find online classes boring or hard to focus on? Same here!

I’m a native Korean speaker based in Calgary, and I’m looking for students who’d love to practice Korean in person!

My lessons are all about SPEAKING, not memorizing grammar rules or studying from textbooks.

I believe the best way to learn a language is to actually use it! We’ll focus on real-life conversations, natural expressions, and Korean that people actually speak in everyday life.

Plus, learning in person means you get to practice face-to-face, stay motivated, and maybe even make a new Korean friend along the way!

Whether you’re into K-pop, K-dramas, Korean food, or planning a trip to Korea, let’s make learning Korean fun and practical!

Just a heads-up: If you’re looking for structured grammar lessons or textbook-based studying, my classes might not be the best fit. But if you want to build your confidence and actually SPEAK Korean, I’d love to help!

Let’s get you speaking Korean and experiencing Korea like a local, not just a tourist!

She’s warm, easy to talk to, and makes conversations feel natural rather than like a lesson. I especially recommend her to anyone who wants to speak Korean confidently in real-life situations!
