About Ysla
I am a drum tutor with 8 years of experience teaching learners at different stages—from school beginners to college students and working professionals. My approach is simple, structured, and encouraging. I help students understand technique, rhythm, and musical expression in an easy and enjoyable way. Students learn timing, stick technique, reading music, coordination, and performance skills. Each lesson includes clear demonstrations, guided practice, and creative exercises that help students develop both skill and confidence.
I also teach related subjects such as rhythm training, music fundamentals, performance preparation, and practice planning. These help students become well-rounded musicians. A unique skill I bring is simplifying even the most challenging rhythms. I break down complex patterns into small steps and help students feel comfortable trying new things. My goal is to build discipline, creativity, and musical confidence in every learner.

My drum teaching methodology follows the principles of Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility. Communication helps me understand each learner’s motivation—whether they want to learn for fun, join a band, improve technique, or develop musical creativity. I discuss goals clearly and explain each lesson in simple steps so students feel ready and confident.
Creativity makes drumming exciting. I give students opportunities to create their own grooves, experiment with accents, improvise fills, and explore rhythms from various cultures. I incorporate backing tracks to give them real musical experience. These creative methods help students gain rhythm sensitivity, musical ear development, and expressive playing skills.
Flexibility helps me adjust lessons for different learning styles. Some students learn by watching, others by repeating slowly, and others by trying the full pattern first. I change my approach depending on what supports the student best. If a pattern is difficult, I simplify it. If the student progresses quickly, I add extra challenges.
I also teach rhythm concepts, beginner music theory, and performance skills. My aim is to guide students toward becoming strong drummers who enjoy creativity, discipline, and musical expression.
