About Emiline

After having obtained my Bac with more than 20 average around Montpellier, I wanted to challenge myself a little by integrating a preparatory class far from home. I thus integrated the PCSI then the PC * of Louis le Grand. Accepted at ENS Ulm, I opted for Polytechnique in order to remain multidisciplinary.

Since college, it is written on my reports that I explain mathematics to my group of friends to help them understand. I gave private lessons during my period of high school and I was also kholleuse (oral examinator) in Chemistry at Louis le Grand. I like to see the spark in my students' eyes when they finally understand a point in the course or when they are unlocked in their exercise!

About the lesson

Starting from a small village near Montpellier to arrive at Polytechnique, I am convinced that the understanding and the logic of reasoning in front of any problem, whether it is the methodology of French or an algebra problem, is paramount to the interest and to success at school and more broadly in any project.

I discuss with the student the suitable course format: for a college / high school level, the most suitable often appears to be a repeat of the course in order to ensure its understanding and not its recitation by heart , followed by exercises of increasing difficulty to challenge the student. For preparers, glue-type oral exams are very good exercises to prepare for the competition, but taking the course again to deepen it and wonder about its details is often very beneficial! I often send the debrief of the session to the student as well as the corrections so that he keeps a small notebook of the courses, marking out his year of advice and key exercises.

In general, I am convinced that benevolence is the key word for students to be confident and achieve their goal! The work being the second key word of this success;)
