About the lesson

Learn Portuguese: basic, intermediate, advanced levels.

Practice your accent reduction in classes tailored to your target problems.

Acquire a more natural speech pattern, that looks like you are "thinking in Portuguese".

We will listen to you speaking for a few minutes and pinpoint your key issues to be worked. And we will improve it. You will see the difference. You will self record your voice on your mobile and compare the "before and after.

-Conversation can only be acquired with repeated practice.
-Let us start by using your favorite subjects.
-Then, we will make you feel comfortable speaking, even if you think you are not fluent.
-Next, we will expand your vocabulary.
-Afterwards, we will enhance your phrasal structure so as to sound more natural.
-To top it off, we will provide you with hints to use the correct expressions that will substitute the ones that native English speakers typically have problem with while learning Portuguese. E.g., if someone says, in Portuguese, "Sabe qual é minha fantasia de carnaval"?, do not panic. "Fantasia", which can be misconstrued as "fantasy" (a false cognate), means carnival "costume". The nasals usually present a level of difficulty to native English speakers, as they sound does not occur naturally in English, generating confusion between the sounds of: mão (hand) vs. mau (bad), pão (bread) vs. pau (stick), etc. The differentiated article for different genders. E.g., "o carro vs. a carruagem" (the car vs. the chariot), because in English both are "the". So, the difficulty is in learning which word is what gender.
