About Ella
I am an 18 year old, currently on a gap year before my medical course begins in September 2022. I have just completed my A-levels in maths, chemistry and biology and an AS in physics in which I achieved AAAA. I got a 9 in GCSE maths took further maths at GCSE and achieved an A*.
I decided to teach maths because I really enjoy it, I love the problem-solving, and the satisfaction when you use the rules correctly it all works out. I hope to help students reach a better understanding of maths whether they wish to go on to do more, or if they just want to get through their exams with whatever grade they need.
My experience in maths tuition has been extremely rewarding so far, I love to see students understanding new concepts and improving their numerical skills. I think I partly find it so rewarding because I remember the feeling of struggling in maths lessons lower down in school and it only took one teacher to really change that for me and build both my skills and knowledge, but also my confidence in maths.

I have been teaching a couple of students for 3 years now and when the pandemic hit, we had to move online. This means I have a lot of experience in tutoring this level of maths virtually.
I aim to create a constructive and supportive environment for student as maths can be very intimidating to a lot of students.
Usually, I like to teach students the concepts, by explaining them with diagrams or example questions, then build up their understanding with exam questions which we can do together. However, students can really choose how best they want to learn. We can work through topics they choose, or just do full exam papers together to work on timing and technique. Lessons can be 45 minutes or an hour. I have a real passion for maths and really hope I can bring that into my lessons and maybe my students will feel the same (if we're lucky)!
