About Heather
Setting the guitar on your lap for the first time should feel natural and comfortable. We start by ensuring your instrument is tuned correctly while discussing the fundamentals of maintenance. I guide you through the intricacies of power chords, strumming patterns, and effective songwriting techniques. My 13 years of experience as a performer allow me to offer insights that go beyond simple note reading.
Because I hold an ARCT degree, I maintain a high standard for technical accuracy in every practice routine. You will find that our time together focuses on building a foundation that supports your growth as a musician. I enjoy seeing students develop a deep understanding of their instrument. My ARCT degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music supports my guitar instruction. I have 13 years of experience teaching various instruments. Working with teens, adults, and intermediate learners is a significant part of my day. These students often seek clarity on acoustic technique or complex chord transitions.
My approach is methodical and sensitive to individual needs. Reading tabs and sheet music becomes second nature with my guidance. You are welcome to join me for a session whenever you feel ready. Having taught 325 students, I understand the common hurdles players face.
