About Abigail
Physics is part of a nine-year tutoring career during which I have taught 400 students, from struggling secondary pupils to adult learners preparing for equivalency exams. My background in adult education shaped my belief that confidence, not just raw ability, determines success in a subject many students find intimidating. I explain physics in plain, practical language, avoiding jargon that can make an already challenging subject feel even more inaccessible. I am patient and encouraging, and I take real pride in helping students who assumed physics was simply beyond them discover a logical, understandable subject instead. Watching that shift happen within just a handful of sessions remains genuinely rewarding for me.

My physics lessons connect every formula to a real, relatable scenario before introducing the mathematics, since students retain concepts far better once they understand the physical story behind an equation. I use simple diagrams and everyday analogies to explain forces, energy, and motion, since abstract explanations alone tend to confuse students new to the subject. Practice problems are worked through step by step with the student actively writing, not just watching, since genuine problem solving skill develops through active practice rather than passive observation. Timed exam style questions are introduced gradually as confidence builds, rather than starting with high pressure practice too early in the process. Homework is reviewed at the start of every session, ensuring confusion never quietly accumulates.
