About Andrew
My career has been shaped by a lifelong commitment to learning, wellbeing and personal growth. With a background in sport, health, coaching and teaching, I’ve always believed that the habits we build — physically, mentally and academically — shape the adults we become. I’ve applied these principles to my own life, and they underpin the way I support young people today.
I believe that education, mentoring and positive role models are absolutely vital to the future of young people and the wider community. I love learning myself, and I aim to inspire students to follow their interests, enjoy the process of learning and build the confidence to pursue the life they want to lead. For older students, I often take on a coaching and mentoring role, helping them connect their studies to their identity, goals and future pathways.
My approach is grounded in the same principles I’ve used in sport and coaching: understanding motivation, building resilience, developing healthy routines and tapping into each student’s strengths. I value all subjects and believe a balanced curriculum is essential in shaping well-rounded, capable adults who can think critically, communicate clearly and thrive in the world beyond school.
Although I specialise in neurodivergent learners, I welcome mainstream students too — my passion is helping any young person grow, learn and move towards the life they want to create.

My lessons are fully bespoke and shaped around each student’s interests, learning profile and neurodivergent needs. I build rapport quickly and work closely with parents, schools and other professionals to ensure consistent, joined-up support. Sessions are 1–2 hours and use scientific principles of deep learning, memory and recall to maximise long-term understanding.
I hold QTS in Science, a Sport & Exercise Science degree, a Level 4 Wellness & Life Coaching qualification, and a Level 7 qualification in SEN Coordination. I have worked as a SENDCO, a pastoral lead in a pupil referral unit, and have 15 years’ classroom experience across both mainstream and SEN settings. For the past six years I’ve been a full-time tutor, delivering over 4,000 hours of personalised tuition.
Although I specialise in neurodivergent learners (ADHD, ASD and related profiles), I also work with mainstream students and enjoy supporting all secondary learners (including upper KS2) in building confidence, independence and strong learning habits.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
Andrew has tutored our daughter who is home educated and on the spectrum for over a year. Due to her autism she finds social interaction difficult. Andrew has truly gained her trust and helped her to thrive and grow. An excellent teacher and very pleasant individual who feels like part of the family.
If you are looking for a professional, reliable role model and teacher who makes everything fun and interesting then Andrew will not disappoint. Could not recommend enough.
Jason and Claire PerryAndrew came into our lives at a very stressful time for our family. He’s been tutoring my son for over a year and has become a trusted adult and safe space for my child. He is patient and kind and brings humour to help ease any tension. He uses his knowledge of many years teaching to bring out the best in my child both academically and emotionally, he knows when to push him and when to pull back, he is very intuitive to his students needs. Andrew is more than a tutor, he brings wonderful pastoral care and we have been very lucky to be able to work with him.
