About Esteban

Hello, I'm Esteban López-Arguedas, a Costa Rican passionate about language and literature. I earned my bachelor's degree in Philology from the University of Costa Rica, where I also completed my Academic Master's in Latin American Literature. Currently, I am immersed in the exciting journey of a Ph.D. in Spanish and Literature at Temple University. My career as a Spanish as a Second Language teacher spans over 20 years, working with students of various levels and ages.

As a doctoral student, my research focuses on colonial religious documents about Central America and Costa Rica, exploring the rich historical and cultural tapestry of the region. Beyond the written word, I am a fervent admirer of classical music and enjoy attending performances by the Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as immersing myself in the rhythms of jazz.

When not engrossed in books or research, you can find me exploring natural trails, as hiking is one of my favorite pastimes. I also have a weakness for travel, good literature, and sharing moments with friends. There's not a day that goes by without savoring a good Costa Rican coffee, setting the rhythm for my days. I gladly share my love for the Spanish language and Latin American culture in every class and every aspect of my life!

About the lesson
