About Michael

As an experienced teacher with a deep-rooted passion for education, I believe I can bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and professionalism to the role of a tutor. Over the years, I have developed strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and I take pride in creating supportive, engaging learning environments where children feel encouraged, valued, and capable of achieving their best. My years in the classroom have equipped me with the skills to adapt to a wide range of learning styles, abilities, and personalities. I’ve worked with children across various age groups (primarily KS2) and educational needs, adapting my approach to ensure that each learner feels confident and successful. Whether it's reinforcing core subjects, building essential study habits, or helping a student rediscover their love of learning, I bring patience, creativity, and structure to every session. I understand that no two students are the same, and this belief guides my teaching methods—always flexible, always focused on the individual. One of the most fulfilling aspects of being a teacher has always been seeing the difference I can make in a child's educational journey. That same satisfaction is what draws me to tutoring. The opportunity to work one-on-one or in small groups means I can make even more meaningful connections and offer targeted, high-impact support. I thrive on helping children unlock their potential and overcome challenges, whether academic or emotional, and I believe tutoring offers a chance to do that in a more personalised, focused way. I’m reliable, well-organised, and committed to delivering consistently high standards. I understand the importance of trust when working with children and families, and I will approach each tutoring relationship with sensitivity, respect, and integrity. In summary, I believe I would be a strong, effective tutor because of my years of teaching experience, my ongoing enjoyment of working with children, and my commitment to professional excellence. I bring both passion and practicality to my work, and I am eager to continue learning and growing while making a positive impact on the lives of young learners.

About the lesson

As a primary school teacher with over twenty years of experience both in the UK and abroad, my aim is to help students with their understanding and knowledge of the primary curriculum. Everyone learns in different ways, so I can adapt the lessons to suit the learner's needs. I also aim to make the learning engaging and fun! My lessons are 45 minutes long as I feel this is a good amount of time for a 1:2:1 class with younger learners. However, I can be flexible with this.
