About Shore
Boutique swim lessons and aquatic leadership courses in York Region, Ontario.
Shore is on a mission to offer the highest quality aquatic programs possible, build strong swimmers, and increase pass rates.

The gap in swimmer progress from one learn to swim level to the next, and from learn to swim levels to Bronze courses fuelled the development of the Shore Swim Program.
Why learn to swim with us?
Private instruction: While most organizations have 3 - 4 swimmers in a class, our Starfish, Sea Turtle, Sunfish, and Stingray programs do exceed 2 swimmers.
Lessons that fit into your schedule: Families have the option of registering for a mini session or a full session.
Track swimmer progress: Families will have digital access progress updates throughout the session. Instead of waiting until the last day of lessons, swimmers are able to advance to the next level at any point.

Our Shore Swim Program was developed to offer a progression based approach to lessons and lead into lifesaving. Skills are broken down into more achievable steps, and swimmers will focus on perfecting select skills before moving to the next level.
Starfish
Age range: 2 - 7 years
Class ratio: 2 swimmers : 1 instructor
Class length: 45 minutes
In Starfish 1 - 4, swimmers work towards floating, gliding, and kicking independently. Basic front and back crawl is introduced in Starfish 5 - 7, with progressions designed for our little fishes. Self rescue skills from rollover floats to treading are included in all Starfish levels.
Sea Turtle
Age range: 6 - 14 years
Class ratio: 2 swimmers : 1 instructor
Class length: 45 minutes
Our 10 level Sea Turtle program focuses on swimming independently, perfecting stroke techniques, and endurance. Swimmers will seamlessly transition from kicking and rollover glides to swim strokes. By the end of the Sea Turtle program, swimmers will master front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, and eggbeater.
Sunfish
Class ratio: 2 swimmers : 1 instructor
Class length: 45 - 60 minutes
The Shore Sunfish program is the transition from swimming to lifesaving lessons. The 2 level program prepares swimmers for fitness items in the Lifesaving Society Bronze Medal awards. Swimmers who have completed Sea Turtle 10 will maximize their speed and endurance during time swims, while maintaining stroke technique. Swimmers will also work on head up strokes, lifesaving kicks, and surface dives.
