  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

I started playing tennis at the age of 6. It started as a simple hobby and activity, but turned to a passion shortly after. I spent the next 25 years of my life playing competitive tennis, competing in national and international levels as well as NCAA. Then, I retired from competitive tennis and started coaching.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

Every time I step onto the court, I'm reminded of the exhilaration that tennis has brought into my life. From the intricate strategies of the game to the relentless pursuit of improvement, tennis embodies discipline, determination, and resilience. What fuels my passion even further is the game's ability to teach life lessons-how to handle pressure, celebrate small victories, and bounce back from setbacks. It's not just a sport for me; it's a way of life.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Tutoring, or coaching in my case, allows me to share the invaluable lessons I've learned from tennis with the next generation of players. It's deeply rewarding to watch a player evolve, not just in their technique but in their mindset and approach to the game. What makes me a "Superprof" is my unique combination of experience at the highest competitive levels and a deep understanding of the sport's intricacies. I approach each student as an individual, tailoring lessons to their unique strengths, challenges, and goals, ensuring they not only become better players but also imbibe the core values that tennis stands for.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

Absolutely. Growing up, Pete Sampras was an immense source of inspiration to me. His dedication, flawless technique, and unparalleled serve-and-volley game were something I always looked up to. But beyond his tennis prowess, it was Sampras's demeanor on the court that left a lasting impression on me. He exhibited immense grace under pressure, maintaining composure in the most challenging moments, and exemplifying true sportsmanship. His ability to balance aggression with strategy, and power with finesse, made me not just a better player but also taught me invaluable life lessons about grit, discipline, and humility. Emulating Sampras's commitment and character has been instrumental in shaping my tennis journey.
  • What are your keys to success?

Perseverance, continuous learning, and adaptability have been the pillars of my success. Tennis, like life, is full of unpredictable moments. Being adaptable to different situations, opponents, and challenges has been crucial. Continuous learning, even after achieving milestones, ensures that I stay ahead and innovative in my strategies. Most importantly, perseverance has been my north star. Whether it was a tough match or a challenging phase in life, pushing forward and believing in the journey have always paid off. These principles don't just apply to the court; they're foundational to success in any endeavor.
