I have been learning Japanese with Toko Sensei for about 4-5 years now. Before I was taking lesson with her in person, then I changed to online class because it was more convenient (no need to waste time in transportation), and it was perfect during the winter time.

As a teacher, Toko Sensei is really kind and patient, she will try to explain until you understand it. Initially, I had a lot of trouble with the basic verbs of "Taberu & Iku" (which are the foundational verbs), and after 1-2 lessons I managed to get it.

In terms of lesson, I think she is flexible. Myself, I started with the Genki book so I continued with that, and now I am on Genki II. After so many years of practice, I noticed that I started to get what people are saying on Japanese TV series. Just for reference, I was only taking 1 class per week at 1.5hrs.

Toko is definitely the best person to teach you japanese. She assesses your needs , reminds you of your goals and helps you work towards that goal! I’ve been learning japanese with Tomo for 2 years and I’ve made so much progress I was confident enough to go to Japan on my own for a month. Not only is she a great teacher , she goes above and beyond to teach the language and the culture which is beautiful and so important! I had so much fun learning and I hope her new students get to have just as much fun!!!

Toko-sensei is a very passionate and dedicated teacher. I have been studying Japanese for several years with her. I had chosen to focus on speaking ability rather than writing. We covered grammar, vocabulary, and culture. During our classes, Toko-sensei used teaching material effectively, was very interactive and motivating, and proposed a good learning pace. I definitely recommend her services!

I had the pleasure of studying with Toko while living in Montreal. She is a fantastic tutor - not only did she drill me (in a good way!) on things like vocabulary and grammar, but she provided incredible cultural context to everything I was studying. On top of that, I was lucky enough to spend time with Toko on my last trip to Japan, which was an absolute pleasure. Highly recommend!!

Toko is a japaneese teacher who speaks perferclty french and english. She's been my teacher for a year and half before I go to japan. It helped me a lot. She's great. Easy to understand. I would recommend anyone Toko if you want to learn japaneese.
