About Abeni
Performing arts has been a huge part of my life for many years, both through training and professional experience. I hold a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre from The Hammond School and have worked across screen, commercial and live performance, with experience connected to BBC’s Boiling Point, ITV’s The Bay, ITV’s The Voice UK, BT Broadband and more.
I am still actively working within the industry, which means I understand the reality of performing, auditioning, training and continuing to grow as an artist. Alongside this, I have spent years teaching, directing and choreographing children, teenagers and adults through Stagecoach, Footlights and one-to-one coaching.
Over time, teaching has become a real passion of mine. I have seen how powerful acting and musical theatre can be for students, not only in terms of performance skill, but also in confidence, communication, self-belief and creativity. I love helping students find the courage to express themselves, take up space and discover what they are capable of.
I teach because I know how much the right guidance can change a student’s experience. A good teacher does not just correct technique; they create a space where students feel safe enough to try, brave enough to make choices and supported enough to grow. That is the kind of environment I aim to create.
Whether a student wants to pursue performing seriously, prepare for an audition, build confidence or simply enjoy acting and musical theatre, I want them to feel encouraged, challenged and proud of their progress. My goal is to help each student grow as both a performer and a person.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, ability, confidence level and personal goals. I offer one-to-one online acting and musical theatre lessons through Zoom, creating a warm, encouraging and professional space where students can grow in confidence, technique and creativity.
I have a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre from The Hammond School, alongside professional experience connected to BBC’s Boiling Point, ITV’s The Bay, ITV’s The Voice UK, BT Broadband and more.
I also have strong teaching, directing and choreographing experience with children, teenagers and adults through Stagecoach, Footlights and one-to-one coaching. My experience is not limited to one age group; I have taught, directed and choreographed adults as well as young people, adapting my approach to suit different confidence levels, learning styles and performance goals.
Lessons can be completely shaped around what the student needs. For younger students, I can offer fun, confidence-building drama lessons using games, storytelling, character work, improvisation and script work. For teenagers and adults, lessons can focus more deeply on acting technique, monologues, audition preparation, screen acting, self-tapes, musical theatre performance, acting through song, character development, vocal confidence and performance detail.
My approach is supportive but purposeful. I want students to feel safe enough to try, make mistakes and explore, while still receiving clear, useful feedback that helps them improve. Whether a student is a complete beginner, preparing for an audition, working towards a performance, developing their confidence or wanting to strengthen their acting and musical theatre skills, I will tailor each lesson to help them become more expressive, prepared and confident.

I had a few lessons with Abeni when she taught at a stage school I attended, and later went on to have one-to-one tuition with her to help me prepare for my GCSE Drama exam.
With Abeni’s support, I ended up achieving top marks, even though I had originally been predicted fairly average results. More importantly, I now feel so much more confident when approaching a script.
Before working with Abeni, I struggled with reading out loud and performing in front of people, but she helped me develop techniques that have genuinely stayed with me. They are so embedded now that I still use them in everyday life, especially when I need to remind myself of my capabilities before public speaking.
Abeni is a supportive, encouraging and knowledgeable teacher, and I’m really grateful for the confidence and skills she helped me build.I decided to start acting lessons because I’ve always had a passion for it. I work in housing day-to-day, but acting is something I enjoyed when I was younger, and I wanted to give it another go as an adult in a safe and supportive space.
I’m so glad I did. More than anything, I genuinely have such a laugh in every lesson, and I always come away having learnt something new that I can take forward.
It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve done for myself recently, and I will definitely be continuing. Thank you, Abs!View more recommendations

Details
I mainly offer one-to-one online lessons through Zoom, with lesson lengths recommended by age and focus. For children under 16, I usually recommend 30-minute sessions at £22. This works well for younger students because it keeps the lesson focused, engaging and age-appropriate while still allowing them to build confidence and technique each week. For teenagers, I usually recommend 45-minute sessions at £33. This gives us more time to work on acting technique, monologues, audition preparation, musical theatre performance, confidence-building or school performance material in more detail. For adults, I usually recommend 45-minute or 60-minute sessions depending on the student’s goals. 45-minute sessions are £33 and work well for confidence-building, acting technique and general coaching. 60-minute sessions are £44 and are best for audition preparation, self-tapes, screen acting, monologues or more detailed musical theatre coaching. My lesson options are: 30 minutes: £22 45 minutes: £33 60 minutes: £44 Weekly lessons are recommended for the best progress, especially for children, teenagers preparing for auditions or performances, and adults wanting regular coaching.
