About Freddie
I have a BA (hons) degree in Jazz from the world renowned Guildhall Conservatoire and have had the pleasure of working with artists such as: Conor Albert, Eric Benny Bloom, Muroki, Alice Auer, Lily Agnes, Hayden Thorpe and Tibo Step to name but a few!
I have also trained as a bassist myself, having studied under top tutors such as Laurence Cottle, Robin Mullarkey, Ralph Salmins, Jules Jackson and Dan Humphreys * (whose credits include: Jacob Collier, Jordan Rakei, Joy Crookes, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Brian Eno, Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, Jamie Cullum and many more!)
I have been teaching privately to a range of students of all abilities for over 3 years now, and had the pleasure of helping teach 1-1 lessons with ‘Music In Offices’ this past year.
When I’m not teaching, I’m working as a professional in the music industry, regularly performing live around the UK and predominantly in the London music scene in venues such as: Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The Barbican, 91 Living Room, The Lower Third, Folklore, Pizza Express Live, BBC Maida Vale and Unwound Studios.
I believe my experience as a bass guitar tutor is strengthened by my current experience in the music industry, alongside my background in piano, cello and choral singing. These experiences allow me to offer broader musical guidance and insight into developing a career in music :)

Personalised lessons to suit each and every student. I offer each new student a free 20 minute goal setting session to discuss any obstacles, wishes, and to see if we're a good fit for each other. From here we can create a plan of direction for future lessons to achieve your bass playing goals.
Together we will cover the fundamentals of technique including: right and left hand, tension management, tone, harmony and repertoire. I encourage students to bring some of their favourite repertoire for us to explore in lessons, but I also provide rep to help that which interests and challenges you!
