About Kateryna

I am a cellist with 19 years of experience. I studied at Kyiv Music Academy (Bachelor’s degree), hold an ABRSM Level 4 Diploma in Music Teaching (ARSM), and I am now in my final year at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. I perform actively in a wide range of projects, from classical to folk and contemporary music. I have my own projects as the duo Progressive Time, the folk trio Dukach, and the orchestra Culture Code. These experiences give me a broad musical perspective, which I bring into my teaching.

About the lesson

I have taught beginners (children and adults) and love making lessons engaging, fun, and accessible. Whether you want to play cello as a hobby or pursue it more seriously, I can help you with technique, note-reading, and even music theory upon request. The length of a lesson depends on your level and goals. I offer lessons online and offline in Glasgow (including home visits) and can provide a student cello (3/4 size) for those starting out before buying their own instrument

Perfect! As a total beginner, I was quite apprehensive about learning something as complex as the cello. However, Kateryna's patient, enthusiastic and curious approach to teaching meant that I was able to develop my skills, understanding and confidence whilst having lots of fun. Kateryna tailored her lessons to meet my needs and provided supportive and constructive feedback, allowing us to maximise the time we had in each session.
