About Anna
I’m a classically trained cellist with a Bachelor’s degree in performance and over 15 years of experience performing and teaching music. I lived in many different places and studied with wonderful teachers, and participated in international festivals and masterclasses worldwide. (Canada, India, Spain, Germany, Russia, just to name a few). This broad background, combined with my passion for teaching, helps me connect with students of all ages and levels. I offer patient, thoughtful guidance tailored to your needs — whether you're a complete beginner, returning to music, or looking to deepen your skills. I believe in mindful learning, where you always understand what you're doing and why, and I help students make steady progress while staying inspired. In addition to classical music, I’ve explored jazz, traditional, and popular styles. I love helping students arrange or adapt pieces they enjoy — so you can play music you truly connect with, at a level that suits you. Now based in Halifax, I’m excited to welcome new students into my studio and online, and help them discover their own path with the cello.

As a cello coach, I focus on helping you truly understand what you're doing and why — every step of the way. My approach is mindful and structured, tailored to your personal goals, experience level, and musical taste. Whether you're a complete beginner, returning to music after a break, or preparing for advanced studies, I guide you through a path that makes sense and keeps you motivated. Lessons are thoughtfully planned: we begin by tuning and checking posture, then move into technique, repertoire, and interpretation. I also include music theory and aural skills when relevant, so you don’t just play — you understand. For beginners, I help build a strong foundation step by step. For more experienced players, I help uncover what’s holding you back and show you how to grow. What sets me apart is my international background, multi-genre experience (from classical to jazz and world music), and deep understanding of different teaching systems. I adapt quickly to your learning style and make sure our time is used efficiently and meaningfully. My lessons are for anyone who wants to learn the cello deeply and effectively — children, teens, or adults, from total beginners to advanced students.
