About Norma
I've been playing around with sewing machines since I was 9 years old. I started out making clothes for my dolls, and was making my own outfits by the time I was 12. That was half a century ago.
Since then, I've gone on to work as a Theatrical Costume Designer, most notably as Resident Designer for Chemainus Theatre Festival (2000-2013) as well as designing for numerous other companies both on and off Vancouver Island. I've since branched out into film, sewing on film/TV crews for the last 5 years, including such fun shows as Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (job title;Official Maker of Weird Sh*t), Riverdale (job title; Witch in the Wardrobe), and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (job title- Our Favourite Weird Girl). My creations from some of these shows have been on display at FIDM in Los Angeles in the last few years!
I look forward to sharing tips, tricks, techniques, and just plain rock solid fundamental knowledge to add to your sartorial toybox.
