About William

Hello! I'm a professional game developer and 3D artist with over four years of industry experience creating interactive experiences using Unreal Engine, Unity, and Blender. During my career I've worked as both a Generalist Artist and Lead Developer, contributing to commercial client projects as well as leading the development of multidisciplinary software projects.

I enjoy helping others learn and understand new concepts, and I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. My teaching style is practical and hands-on, focusing on building real projects while explaining the reasoning behind each decision rather than simply following tutorials.

Whether you're taking your first steps into game development, want to improve your technical art skills, or are working towards a portfolio for further study or employment, I'll tailor lessons to your goals and experience level. My objective is not only to help you complete a project, but to give you the confidence and understanding to continue developing your skills independently.

I welcome beginners through to intermediate learners and look forward to helping you achieve your goals in game development, 3D art, and digital creation.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, patient, and tailored to each student's goals. Whether you're completely new to game development or looking to improve your existing skills, I focus on helping you understand the "why" behind each concept rather than simply following tutorials. I believe students learn best by building real projects and solving real problems, so lessons are hands-on and designed to develop confidence alongside technical ability.

I have over four years of professional experience in the games industry, working as both a Generalist Artist and Lead Developer. During this time I worked across the entire development pipeline, including game design, Unreal Engine, Unity, 3D art, animation, technical problem solving, and collaborative development. This real-world experience allows me to teach not only how to use the software, but also the workflows and best practices used in professional projects.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged for larger projects or more in-depth topics. I adapt each lesson to the student's pace, whether that means introducing the fundamentals, reviewing a personal project, preparing a portfolio, or tackling a specific technical challenge.

I primarily teach beginners and intermediate learners, including high school students, university students, hobbyists, and aspiring game developers. Whether your goal is to create your first game, learn Unreal Engine or Unity, improve your 3D art skills, or gain insight into professional game development, I'm happy to help you progress toward your goals.
