About Freya

With over 16 years of violin playing and more than 3 years of teaching experience, I bring both passion and professionalism to every lesson. I have worked with students of all ages and skill levels, many of whom have gone on to win school music awards, receive excellence grades in NCEA music, and earn trophies for their progress and performance. I'm proud to have received several accolades myself, including the Jillian Bray Trophy for Most Promising Musician, presented by Porirua Mayor Anita Baker, and multiple top senior student awards from the Emma Colligan School of Violin. As a songwriter, performer in a band, and current university student studying chemistry and philosophy, I offer a well-rounded and creative approach to teaching. I believe in fostering a supportive, inspiring learning environment where students feel empowered to grow artistically and technically. Whether you're a beginner or preparing for advanced performance, I'm committed to helping you reach your full potential.

About the lesson

As both a musician and a teacher, I’m passionate about making learning fun and engaging for all students. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, I’d love to help you on their musical journey! While the violin is often associated with classical music, I teach a wide variety of genres. From rock and folk to pop and K-pop, you can explore music you truly love.
