About Jane
Jane Sullivan is a multiple solo prize winner, orchestral musician and Music teacher, she is currently studying for her undergraduate degree in music performance at the Royal College of Music London.
During the past few years, she has been a solo prize winner throughout Ireland, most recently winning first prize in the ESB Feis Ceoil (Dublin) Senior Woodwind competition in 2022. formerly, Jane was awarded the Senior Woodwind "Crowely Perpetual Cup" and "Dulux Paints Bursary" in Feis Maitiú (Cork), and also the ESB Feis Ceoil (Dublin) highest placed woodwind, receiving the coveted Rose Bowl prize in 2020. She has had the privilege of taking part in masterclasses with many world-renowned oboists such as Jacques Tys, Juliana Koch and Ruth Bolister.
As an orchestral musician, Jane has been principal oboist of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, Irish Youth Wind Ensemble and MTU Cork School of Music Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the RCM Wind Ensemble on numerous occasions, and was invited to play with the Philharmonia Orchestra as part of the RCM sit-in scheme, and also the RTÈ National Symphony Orchestra in their side by side mentoring programme. She has worked under the baton of acclaimed conductors such as American conductor Marin Alsop and Irish conductor David Brophy.
