About Ayodele

Hello! My name is Ayodele John (Papa J), and I am a Piano Instructor, Music Educator, and Music Producer based in Abuja, Nigeria.

My passion for music is matched by my passion for teaching. In addition to my musical experience, I have an academic background in Education, which has given me a strong understanding of effective teaching methods, lesson planning, and how students learn at different stages. This helps me create lessons that are well-structured, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual needs.

I founded Novice to Pro Piano Class with the vision of helping aspiring pianists develop solid musical foundations through practical, step-by-step instruction. As both a teacher and a music producer, I combine music theory with real-world application so that students don't just learn to play songs—they understand the music behind them and become confident, independent musicians.

I believe learning the piano should be enjoyable, encouraging, and rewarding. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing at their own pace. Every lesson is adapted to the student's goals, whether they are learning for personal enjoyment, church ministry, performance, or simply fulfilling a lifelong dream of playing the piano.

About the lesson

I believe anyone can learn to play the piano with the right guidance, a clear learning plan, and consistent practice. My goal is to make every lesson enjoyable, practical, and easy to follow, helping students develop real musical skills while building confidence at every stage of their journey.

Every lesson is tailored to your experience, learning pace, and personal goals. Whether you're a complete beginner, an intermediate player looking to improve, or a church keyboardist wanting to become more confident, I'll create a structured learning path that helps you make steady progress.

My lessons cover piano technique, finger exercises, scales, chords, chord progressions, music theory, rhythm, ear training, accompaniment, improvisation, and contemporary piano styles. For students interested in worship music, I also teach practical keyboard accompaniment and harmony. Rather than simply teaching you what to play, I help you understand why it works so that you can play with confidence, creativity, and independence.

Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes and includes a review of previous material, guided practice, new concepts, practical demonstrations, and personalized exercises to help you continue improving between lessons. I also provide constructive feedback and practice strategies to ensure steady progress.

I am a Piano Instructor, Music Educator, and Music Producer, as well as the founder of Novice to Pro Piano Class, an online piano training program designed to help aspiring pianists build strong musical foundations through structured and practical learning. My experience in music production, arranging, and performance enables me to connect theory with real-world musical application.

My lessons are suitable for children (8 years and above), teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to intermediate players. Whether your goal is to play your favorite songs, improve your technique, strengthen your understanding of music theory, prepare for performances, or become a more confident accompanist, I am committed to helping you achieve your musical goals in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
