Professional Spanish teacher teaches students in their native language at all levels from beginners to advanced Spanish skills in spoken and written language at all ages

I would recommend Mercedes as a teacher because she is always friendly and the lessons are fun. Besides grammar and vocabulary exercises the classes mostly consist of talking, which is a pretty good practice and ensures varied courses. Mercedes is patient and if you do not understand anything, she will always exlain it again.

I have been taking online Spanish lessons from Mercedes for several years, I've benefited from them greatly and would highly recommend her. My wife met Mercedes when she was teaching English in Mexico, and Mercedes helped her gain more proficiency in her Spanish language skills in order to become more involved in the community. I reached out to Mercedes later about 5 -6 weeks prior to taking a lengthy trip to Argentina, with the objective of gaining enough proficiency to get around and operate. I turned out to be the only person in our group of 5 who had knowledge of Spanish and I was surprised at how much I learned in a short time and was able to effectively communicate for our group.

Both my wife and I still take nearly-weekly one-on-one lessons from Mercedes and we continue to advance our Spanish skills. My wife and I have very different learning styles, and Mercedes is able to adapt her teaching to fit both of us. She has a wide variety of learning resources which she uses, in addition to doing considerable conversational practice. As a native Oaxacaña she also is able to convey useful cultural and idiomatic information.

In addition to the effectiveness of Mercedes' teaching, she has a wonderfully cheerful and optimistic personality which makes me look forward to our lessons, and always puts me in a good mood!

I highly recommend Mercedes as a Spanish tutor. She has been working with our family for 20 years, first in person in Oaxaca since 2006, then on-line up to the present. She worked with our daughter at age 10 and with my husband and me as adults. She is excellent at tailoring lessons to your needs or level that are for grammar, culture or conversation. She has assisted my husband in rehearsing for his book presentations in Latin America. Mercedes is also adept at working with young students who may be shy or unwilling and inevitably they become enthusiastic.
